FanTastic four

I’m over here reminiscing about Grant’s Fantastic Four Super Hero 4th birthday party. Honestly this party turned out waaaaay cuter than I ever could have imagined and I’m so grateful we got to sneak in this little celebration before quarantine life set in.

Ya know the saying “it takes a village?” well that is 100% true in successful party planning. Thankfully I know some of the very best in the business that helped to make my soirée dreams a reality. So I’m going to walk ya through: Kid’s Party Planning 101

Theme!! First things first…you must decide on a theme. That will make everything else from here on out about 10 times easier because you have direction.

Grant mentioned he wanted a Super Hero party and I ran with it like Spider-Man chasing a bad guy. From there I took my decor inspo from Coterie. Coterie is a one stop shop for elevated party supplies. You just pick a theme and then Coterie sends it all...plates, napkins, straws, toppers, candles, place cards...literally ev-ery-thing you need to make a party Pinterest perfect. That way you’re not running around to a million different stores trying to find the exact cerulean blue cup to coordinate with your cake topper. No body has time for that!

The only extras I needed to order were the cute super hero capes and masks which were a hit. They served as decor, the kids loved playing pretend with them at the party and then they took them home as favors! Definitely a great find!

I also snagged these adorable popcorn party boxes to add a little pop to our dessert table. I’ll admit these were mostly for decor purposes but I also thought they’d make super cute favors.

Make It Pop!

And I’m not just talking about the popcorn. I think it’s smarter to splurge on one major wow factor decoration with instead of a bunch of smaller meh pieces. At this party, my good friends at Hip + Hooray Company went above and beyond to create this extraordinary balloon wall.

I mean can you even handle the amazingness?! Throw on a sparkly banner from We Love A Party and it was definitely a showstopper. Gah loved this wall! Check out Hip + Hooray’s IG page for more balloon wall inspo.

Another way to make your party pop is by using party appropriate furniture! Petite Events Co has the greatest selection of unique rental items that you want at your party but don’t want to have to buy. We rented these darling kid’s tables, chairs, the dessert bar and acrylic dessert stands! The kids loved having their own little table and I loved how easy they made my set up and take down!

Let Them Eat Cake!

More specifically let them eat cake, cookies and pizza! Those are the three main food groups when planning a child’s party. I wasn’t about to rock the boat this one.

When Pizza Guys delivers about 10 boxes of your favorite pies you know it’s a good party. Plus we enjoyed their garlic bread and catering sized salads for the parents! The kids were happy, the adults were happy…that’s definitely a win!

The star of the dessert table was definitely this gorgeous almost too pretty to eat cake. Grant’s fabulous cake (and quite possibly the heaviest cake I’ve ever held) was made by the Jackie Robinson, the dessert chef from Bacon and Butter. That’s HUGE! Jackie is beyond talented at her craft and that cake was sinfully delicious!!

What’s a dessert table without adorable custom cookies?! My friend Kristin at Sweet Vanilla Cookies dreamed up these darling super hero cookies for the kiddos. You have no ideas how excited Grant was to share these custom cookies with his best pals.

All in all it was my favorite kid’s party that I’ve throw. It turned out so cute and most importantly my sweet guy had the best time ever!
